LEHMUSLINNA -
FORMER NIKKILÄ HOSPITAL

In the summer of 2018 I had a great opportunity to work for my previous intership company, Restaurointiosuuskunta Kymen Karmiini. I worked with the wonderful crew for two months, restoring old windows, doors and window frames. Our main project was a 1930's kindergarten in Sipoo, at one of the former Nikkilä mental hospital buildings. This job helped me perfect my window restoration skills, as well as learn the process of restoring frames. I used all the traditional materials in the process, including shellac, linseed oil paint and putty.
