GILDED PAINTING

This gilding work was made on a course on special techniques during my restoration studies. Initially, the plywood board was applied with layers of gesso and bolus. The base was carved with the outline of the design. Then, golden metal leaves were attached to the board and the design was completed with shellac paint. The gilding is polished with agate stones. The design is replicated from a beautiful Art Nouveau wallpaper.
